I think their origional product, power steering fluid, was indeed purple. But I may have made that up, I guess I don't really know...

I believe he initially worked for the Royal Triton company. But there is also the historical contact to the color purple. Purple was always worn by and signified royalty. Thus since product is purple it is royal ie it reigns sumpreme.
