Coolant warning lights malfunction.
I have a ScanGaugeII and the engine is running between 83c (181f) and 96c(204f). I checked the temperature with an ir thermometer and it is accurate, however the red light starts to blink over 90c (194f). The blue one should go off when the engine is cool once the temp reaches 55c (131f), but it is doing it at 50c. It looks like the temperatures that triggers each light have been changed somehow.
Today I found that turning the headlights off returns the triggers back to normal. Any thoughts?
