Cruise Control Installed!

What an awesome upgrade the cruise control is. Many thanks to CTScott for suppling all the parts. I didn't require so much as a screw. Well, a few zip ties and a couple inches of heatshrink.

I am thrilled with how well the cruise works. No harsh downshifting on hills, super smooth engagement and operation. Just got back from a 2 hour highway run and it was so nice to rest the foot. I was a bit worried about getting a speeding ticket before installing the cruise control as these little cars can zip right along and you're well over the limit before you know it.

Next on the "To Do" list...

Keyless entry. I haven't been able to find DIY instructions, so if anyone is aware of one of the quality of the cruise control DIY, I'd be super grateful if they could let me know.

Agreed. Criuse control has to be the best upgrade for the Yaris. All new models here in Australia now come with cruise control standard.

I nearly didn't buy my Yaris because it didn't have cruise control, then I found this site and how easy it was to install.

Good job on the install. I bought the factory parts and did a cruise control install within a few months of buying the car. The gas pedal is so light, the top of my foot would hurt after a long drive from the constant strain of slightly lifting my foot up. I use it everywhere now and it makes long drives much more comfortable.

For sure, a great and inexpensive upgrade! I'm really happy with it.

Thanks schume. It's so much nicer doing highway drives now.

I'm one who doesn't mind driving without cruise control.

Highways are bad enough here, and trucks are speed limited to 105kmh, so they overtake at 105!

It means I can watch the road and traffic, rather that worrying about my speed drifting higher and getting a ticket.

Check out this video.

There is a member on this site that sells cruise control kits for both automatic and manual transmissions. His pricing, documentation (installation guide) and support are unparalleled.
