Exclamation Can anyone tell me how to put a bypass valve on my air intake?

Hey All,

My wife and I have an '09 Yaris hatchback that sucked up water into the engine and TOTALLED it the first day we got it. Luckily the dealership rebuilt the engine for us and we haven't had any problems since. But we're moving up to WA and I don't wanna be driving all day thru the rain and have it get all ruined with water again. I bought an air bypass valve to try and avoid that problem, but I don't know how to attach the thing. Also, I'm not sure whether it has a cold air intake, or if that matters. Can anybody help?

http://www.amazon.com/05-11-Toyota-Y...s+bypass+valve

Thanks!
Cody

How did you get water into the engine? I have lived in Seattle for a long time with lowered vehicles and cold air intakes with the filter in the lower bumper and never sucked up water.

Did you ever get it installed?

I have never heard of this before - and I've driven in many a driving rain.

Something ELSE put water into that engine; or something else caused the damage.

OP, the Pac NW is designed to handle the water it gets. The whole area is a rain forest, minus the tropical, venomous, indigenous creatures :)

The only areas that flood are typically the rivers and areas of flood plain. Know your zone and you'll be fine
