Headlamp Change

Any tricks to changing a driver's side headlamp on a 08 without taking the whole car apart? Thanks.

Headlamp Change

Without extremely tiny hands, the easiest way to change the bulb is to physically remove the headlight assembly. This is held in place by 3 fasteners, one of which is unfortunately concealed by the bumper cover. You need to remove the push pins along the top and release the sides where bumper meets the fenders. Then the bumper can be tilted forward enough to reveal the hidden headlight fastener.

lamp bulb parking headlamp

I removed battery and airbox to replace one of the two parking/running bayonet type bulbs. Would expect same for headlamp.

Is this a hatchie specific deal?!

On my sedan i have excellent access to my bulbs...of course now with my h1 hid projector retrofit its a little tedious but i do not have to remove a thing to gain access

Thanks. I wasn't having a good day that day in the cold. I ended up getting the headlight assembly out enough to get the job done. I curse the designer of that......

yeah, i was thinking the same thing too, but his profile says 'hatchback'. i have an 07 sedan and the bulb changes are simple. i've heard it's different on the 3-door.

i had a 3-door 08 for a while, but i don't recall ever having to change bulbs(i did lots of other things though- axle-back exhaust, lowering springs, strut tower bar).
