Rubber Piece Below Front of Car
I don't really know that much about cars, but lately, i have noticed the rubber piece on the bottom of my car keeps hanging down! Does anyone know what this is called and how I would go about getting another one?
It is rubber and it is visible if you crouch down and it's in the front of the car. I know!!! I know!!! I'm clueless! Just would like it fixed! It's really bothering me! |

Most cars, my Yaris included, have an air dam below the front bumper that's made of rubber or flexible plastic so it's got some tolerance for being pushed over curbs in parking. Won't always take it, and sometimes they tear loose. You're going to have to crawl under there with a flashlight and study how it was fastened, and see if the piece is torn up or if it's just pulled loose from the plastic rivets that held it. Or take it to a shop.

LB people don't bother looking. We don't have this piece.

I know what you're talking about.
I was having some problems with it dragging, I just tied it up with some plastic ties. When I took my car in for maintenance, the dealer told me it would cost about $400 to replace. The part itself was over $100. I used a ton of plastic ties and nuts and bolts from the hardware store and rigged it back up myself. It was better than new. Eventually, it came loose again however. I just cut it off. |

I scraped mine off years ago at a steep incline entrance to a gas station, got tired of it dragging around and just took it off, no more dammed air for me

I took mine off awile ago. Its there to let you know when your going up or down a driveway too steep. I have yet to seen one on a car that isnt scrached and scraped in one way or another.
