Air Conditioner Noise...

About a week ago I took apart a good portion of my dash to do an instrument panel mod to get my fog light indicator to work. Ever since, I've been having unusual and loud noises coming from the AC when it's on. It works perfectly, but when on 1 it makes a sound that I can only guess is the fan scraping against something. From 2 on, the compressor gets REALLY loud. I'm sure I put the vent back in place properly, and I don't think it's that leak issue that other have been having. Any ideas?

Something fell down the duct and is scraping the fan?

Not unlikely, although it doesn't explain the excessive compressor noise. How would I go about getting at the fan?

Check where the cabin filter is. I had an odd sound after putting in a cabin filter. I rechecked it, and it was hitting the fan slightly. Readjusted, and the sound was gone.

Turns out a wrapper fell into the blower unit. Problem solved

Customer came to my shop few weeks ago complaining of a noise when turning the a/c on. After remove the cabin air filter we found about 15 small acorns sitting inside the blower motor that were bouncing around whenever it was turned on. Months before that he had came in for the same problem.

Atleast its not as bad as this guys....
