2008 US to UK instrument cluster swap
Hello everyone, I need some info. I own a 2008 Yaris 1.5 hatchback in the USA with no tachometer. I bought a 2008 Yaris 1.8 SR cluster off of eBay from the UK with a tachometer. When I installed it everything works except the speedometer. I checked all the wiring & even used my Snap On scan tool to check the speedometer through the CAN network & it works fine. Does the speedometer need to be reprogrammed for my car or am I missing something silly. I can’t find anything about reprogramming it online. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance. |

I was able to swap to a US cluster with a tach and didn't have to change anything. My '09 uses a turbine sensor on the transmission for the speedo signal, not the ABS/CAN signal (afaik). Take a look at the 2ZR swap threads, specifically where they show adding the turbine wire harness to the engine fuse box to see if you have those wires/signals.
