most likely you would need the complete 1nz harness and ecu, but I would ask CTScott, he is more knowledgeable in the wiring and management aspects.

I asked some technicians in Egypt, working on Toyota cars, they told me that you just need to swap the engine and nomore. The ECU is the same, the wiring is the same.

He convinced me when he showed me the details of each car. 2NZ-FE and 1NZ-FE have the same ECU, same fuel pump, same Dashboard, and even the same transmission.

But i still need to be sure from yarisworld experts :)

My car is the big sister of the yaris, which is the Corolla 2002 :)

I noticed in the European service manual that the 1NZ and 2NZ use the same ECM. I wouldn't doubt that it's plug and play.

If it is plug and play as you think, then the difference in performance is not that large.

do you know the Torque in N.m and Horsepower of the 1NZ-FE ?

According to wikipedia, the 2NZ-FE is 85 HP and 121 N.m

and the 1NZ-FE is 110 HP and 140 N.m

The difference can't be neglected i think. Will the 2NZ-FE transmission survive the 1NZ ?
