looking for a replacement key FOB for an 08 Yaris

Dropped it somewhere and I can not find it. HELP! Dealership wants 225 for a keyfob but i know there has to be an aftermarket option for these little guys. That is insane pricing..

Any ideas/suggestions??

Thanks

I would think the 9.99 and up is just for a blank key and case and not the actual electronics, which is what costs $225. Outside of going with an aftermarket alarm, you probably are going to have to go with the dealership option. What does the actual description on those sites say?

A quick recap from beginning to end, and worth reading as its interesting IMO.

First I lost my key that opened doors/panic button etc... Dealer said 225+ for the key.

I purchased one online that was a blank that looked exactly like the one I lost. It was 19.99 (ya, that's it) and I took it to the locksmith and for 5 bucks they cut it for me using my spare key as a guide.

The website I bought the key from had instructions online on how to program the key, It was pretty weird, like open the door twice, put key in ignition twice, wait 1.5 seconds etc... but IT WORKED..

bottom line is that 225 buck key was 25 dollars online....... All buttons work and it appears to be the same key that I lost!

I think of buying a key fob. I want one that the key is folding. (Like vw ones for example). I fount some of these, on eBay that my chip from the electronic key fits right in.
But should I go for it?? One thing that worries me is if the key will break inside the starter hole. It's from China after all.
