I went ahead and put the rest on with no problem, you guys think that's ok? This is probably due to some design differences with the USDM ones from our local ones (Philippines).
I'm in the US and I have the same problem in mine ,my OEM pin won't fit either to the original pole.

Unfortunately some of the 08 models seem to have different OEM components when compared to the older models. This seems to be something from Toyota's end... they may have possibly sourced some of their components from a different supplier for some of the 08 models.

Some are leaving the OEM pin out... some are filing a bit away from the bottom of the SSK... others who don't want to mess with anything are encouraged to return their unused SSK to exchange for an in-cabin NSTSSK09-2.

I hate to bring it up... but it is a reality...
We lost SO much info in this thread

More info, user data, and reviews are a MUST.
Come on guys!!!

When did you buy your SSK?
Who did you buy from and how was the experience?
How do you like your SSK?
Would you recommend it to others?
Etc?

NST SSK on Yaris TS 1.8

Got my NST SSK 4 Months ago from Cali Yaris.

Installed a few days later in my 2008 Yaris 1.8 TS

My car comes eqquiped with the 2ZR-FE 1.8 engine and the SSK fit perfectly.

Time to instal: Under 2 minutes

This mod gave me instant gratification! Unlike other mods you do to the car that can be felt only under agressive driving, the SSK is something you enjoy every day. No matter that you are going to the track or to the grocery store

I already have my $$ saved for the upcoming NST Pulleys for the 1.8 engine.

Thanks NST!!!!

I forgot to mention that on my previous Yaris (2007 Sedan) I had the TWM short shifter since NST piece was not yet available when I got it.

I enjoy the NST piece so much more than the TWM... Is much more confortable.
Don't get me wrong, the TWM was a great unit but due to the Yaris configuration, Seat and shifter position is not the best idea to lower the height of the shifter. With the NST SSK I don't need to extend my arm all the way down and it's easier and smoother to make the gear changes.

NST FTW!

Very manageable mike, in fact that is what many of our customers do! And installation takes only a few minutes and very simple hand tools. This means you could always switch back and forth if you decided to.

Good luck and have fun with all your projects!

You should receive them within the next day or two if you have not already.

On a side note... I'm not sure how MI is doing on inventory, but we only have a few of our SSK in stock at the moment... So anyone who is interested may want to place an order sooner, rather than later!

Ordered mine the other day and got it today. I installed it in about 45 seconds but the OE retaining pin could not be engaged so, I just hooked up the cotter pin included with the unit to secure the linkage to the new pin. I am just concerned that this is possibly stressing out the linkage due to the fact that it sits higher on the lever arm? OR...maybe it doesn't sit higher on the lever arm and it's that the lever pin is shorter? The shifts feel much, much better though...I'd say throw is reduced closer to 50 or 60%

OK....bought the SSK over the summer from cali.....FAST shipping by the way

Install time was no more than 1 minute
Favorite mod so far by far, it just changes the entire feel of the car. I loved my CAI when i first heard it, but the SSK really did blow me away. It was hard for me to imagine what a shorter throw would be like. I tried to "pretend it" when parked. But for all my expectations it rose above. Any one with 90 bucks only looking to buy one thing....get the first SSK it will be WELL worth it....IMO

Absolutely not. Most of our customers order the SSK and then return a few months later for the bushings.
