Terrible Fm reception aftermarket radio/stereo

I read somewhere the antenna has a booster and needs power.I have 2007 Yaris.Something about connecting blue wire to ?

Hopefully someone knows waht the issue is.The stock deck had fantastic reception.Thanks

there us a blue antenna lead like power antenna from your head unit. that should go to a blue wire from your antenna. yes the stock radio antenna needs this power to work.

Antenna

I do get fm stations but very bad range/reception.I will pull deck and see whats up.Thanks for reply.

I believe I need to use the power retractable antenna wire from headunit which is 12 volts.

I dont see antenna power wire labeled on the stock yaris harness connecter.

Should be blue or blue/white. I always get them mixed up. Your aftermarket head unit should only have 1 though. If the adaptor harness has both of those, just connect them both to the one.

I used the power antenna power from headunit to blue yaris antenna wire.

No diffence in reception.I may get a better hedunit

I did this but no difference in reception.

I will try somesort of antenna booster/amplifier and if that doesnt work then I will get better headunit.Actually tempted to put the stock unit back in.

Did this but no difference.Why does the yaris suck for fm.My other cars had good reception with aftermarket radio.

From what I have read Its a known issue just not with yaris but other cars aswell using aftermarket headunit.

my headunit is a good quality Pioneer doubledin.

I just dont use the radio.

I did this but did not improve.
