Hey Dabuu, how you liking the Bilstein's?

I need a stiffer strut up front to match my Tokiko Blue's in the rear to limit the amount of oversteer I have and the KYB's aren't cutting it. Curious as to how the Bilstein's perform

I'd love to know as well, for when the time comes for me to replace my OEM shocks/struts.

tmon - Would you say the KYB's are like OEM, slightly softer, or slightly stiffer?

Dab - Didn't know you were running Bilstein's. What are your thoughts on them?

Hey guys,

I'm loving the B8's, they were a huge upgrade in the handling department (along with the lowering springs). Steering feel was one of the improvements that I really liked.

At slow speeds the dampening is stiff, so you do feel all the irregularities on the road, but once you get up to speed they do a great job of absorbing bumps and dips. I'd like to say these shocks are confidence inspiring (just like my new RE71rs lol), my car never felt loose at a high speed track like Big Willow.

I think these would be a major upgrade compared to the KYBs in terms of performance. Are the Blues discontinued for the fronts?

I've been looking around for the Blues but can't find them. I know now that the B8's will do the trick. Did you get the Perf Plus model? Do you happen to have the part number? It would save me a lot of leg work. Also, how do the springs compare to say, H & R? Thanks! Enjoy! It looks great!

I knew all those pictures would help haha.

Racecar prep for the next track day at Buttonwillow on March 4th. I've been wanting a new tow hook for awhile.

Cusco Tow Hook

Works with 2nd and 3rd gen yaris and the Aqua/Prius c.

I love how menacing she looks now, but I'm planning to use it during track days. I can finally use the Cusco plate frames from my Prius v.

I've wanted these Blood Sports Delrin Collars for awhile now. After getting in touch with Blood Sports, I decided to contact RHDJapan, and they were very helpful. These are now available on rhdjapan's website.

These collars take up the empty space between the rear torsion beam's rubber bushing and the frame. They prevent the rear from wiggling around, in exchange for more NVH. I can't wait to try these out on track.

I visited Buttonwillow Raceway Park this past weekend. It was a beautiful day to learn a new track. I did have an offroad excursion that nearly wrecked my car, and shook me up for a bit. I did over come my fear, and ended up with a personal best of 2:15.868. RE71r's are amazing! So much grip, and they're quite talkative at the limit.

Rivalries

I saw these two guys, and went over to say Hi, and we were having a great time being the only guys there with low powered torsion beamed hatchbacks LOL. The mazda2 was fast!!

I never 3 wheeled before, so the wifey bought me this print as a gift. :P

I also downloaded the Harry's Lap Timer app for my phone, and it does an amazing job of getting on track data! I paired it up with a bluetooth obd reader, and Garmin gps unit.

Here's a video of my 2nd fastest lap, since my gopro died. I tried to cut the data as best I could.

Other than missing the apex at Phil Hill that was a solid lap.

What was your opinion on these? Fit good? Do anything for the car?

Thanks Jason! Haha yeah, I totally missed Phil's hill's apex on this lap, I became more comfortable later on in the day and started hitting the apex resulting in my pb! wished I got it on video. :P

I haven't installed the rear collars yet, I'll try to before the streets of willow event this 25th.

Just an FYI Eren, I wouldn't run this tow hook on the daily, if you happen to rear end someone, it'll be bad news for your frame. The tow hook will impact the object in front of you before your crash beam can absorb any force! Which is why I'm only installing it on track days.

Registered for TRD Cup Rd. 2 @ Streets of Willow on 3/25. We will be running CCW, the same configuration I ran when the Yaris was stock. I'm excited to see how much faster the car is with the mods. :D

Thanks Dabuu, top tip. I probably won't install it anyway, I just like the idea of it :)

Sounds awesome man, I'll be keeping my eye out for some updates on the race! I'm excited to hear about how much faster it is too! :)
