2010 Yaris Headlight dim
Got a brand new 2010 Yaris sedan. Headlights seem to be dim when compared to our Civic. Is this normal or is there something we can do?

The OEM bulbs used in our cars are not all that bright. I upgraded mine to Sylvania Silverstar bulbs and that made a world of difference.

I bought mine from amazon. I just ordered a new set, as one of the bulbs burned out last week. They definitely have a shorter life than the OEM bulbs (I got about 18 months out of them), but to me the extra brightness and lit field is worth it. From amazon they are $34 with free shipping:

My first ones were the regular Silverstars. The ones I just ordered are the Ultras, so I am not sure yet if it is worth the extra money for the Ultras.

I think Walmart has Silverstars
Didn't have good luck with them on my Honda also!! 06'Accord! I think they get hot! and that shortens life of the bulb?? I'm going to try a set and keep the receipt!! Should at least a year!!

I replaced my headlights with the silverstar ultras the other day. All of the cuts on my knuckles are worth the difference they make. I'm just hoping they last while because I don't feel like changing them again anytime soon.

I change them by popping the plastic bumper clips along the top of the bumper and the ones at the edge of the wheel well. Then, you can grab the bumper at the wheel well and pull straight forward to pop the bumper ends out of their holders. That gives you enough room to be able to remove the headlight mounting bolts and lift the headlights out to change them. Some people do it by squeezing their hand behind the headlight, but It's hard to make sure that the gasket is properly reseated that way. My latest set came in about a week with the free Amazon shipping. I am waiting for my new horn (Stebel TM80 Magnum horns) to come before I install them, so I only have to pop the bumper loose once.

They both have good loud tones, but I got a heck of a deal on a set of Magnums ($20).

Second week I had mine I was blasting to work 70 MPH half asleep a 4:30 AM when I saw a huge wooden crate in the road. Too late to swerve withour risk of rolling. I blame the stock lights.
