My old Geo Metro was even worse, especially with bad tires.
Geo Metro curb weight around 1700 lbs.
Toyota Yaris curb weight around 2300 lbs.
At least there is a little more weight.

I drive ove r a high 2-mile-long bridge over the open water every day, and the wind can be a biyatch. I fixed it by going to 16" wheels and lowerr and stiffer sidewalls. No worries now.

the wind whacks my yaris around too. I also find that my yaris' tires fall in the grooves made by heavy trucks and it pulls the car in odd directions at times.
