Hey Kevin, out of curiosity, how come you want a lockable gas cap? Is the yaris gas lid
lock system not enough? Or does the sedan not have the same lever as the liftback?

I live in a small ass town, and theres been atleast 30 cars that have had their gaskets pried open for their gas to be syphoned, and the only thing protecting my car is the little lockable hatch but if they are going around with a screw driver or crow bar I'm sure it wont be enough maybe a lockable one will help fight them off, atleast mak me feel better lol.

My question remains!

and what do you mean set CEL? Is that a size or? lol all I saw at CT was like m8-tt but I didnt really look.

i was saying as far as i know u cannot stick a hose down and suck fuel up.

if ure determined on getting a lockable one, if u go to canadian tire they will have the size and a replacement lockable one

Anti siphon won't stop people from putting bad things INTO your tank!
I ordered a cap from Ebay made by Fram. That little round cover you plull the lever to open on the car is no match for a screwdriver.

Nope, and I was going to detach the gas cap and take it in, but it's attached to some plastic string thing that is attached to the gas cap, any ideas on how to remove yet be able to puut back if I chose to?

Locks only keep honest people out. If someone really wanted to steal your gas, a lockable cap isn't going to stop them. Heck, they already did some damage to your car by just prying the gas lid open.

Get a car alarm, record and report any vandalism immediately to your insurance/police.

i agree with most of this, if someone wants ur shit they will get it, even if that means making it un useable. they will get the gas or put stuff in with or without the gas cap.

i completly disagree with the reporting part. if its serious and u cant fix it urself or relativatly cheap then report it, otherwise its not worth the headache to get no where in an almost unsolvable case.

also ur insurance could go up over something that would have only cost maybe $100 to fix. if u tell ur insurance company ur car was vandalized ur car is now high risk and ur in a high risk area. hence y my car is registered at a different house in a better location.

also if u file a police report they will notify ur insurance company (or it will go on ur car history and the insurance company will have access to see it) so even if u jsut want to tell the police the insurance company will still screw u
