Cheap sound system upgrade. I like it.

So I have an example that others have done similarly in their Yari that is working Excellently for me, and I would like to share it with you all.

- stock headunit
- Ipod plugged into AUX input
- front speakers changed to Kenwood KFC-1662S 6.5"s
- rear speakers unplugged
- Output converter rear speaker connections to RCA
- Amplifier
- Subwoofer

Quality 6.5" speakers deliver great sound in the mids and highs. Component speakers are a great option as well.

Getting rid of the rear speakers gives me a way to control the subwoofer from the headunit without worrying about sending a weird EQ to the rear speakers.

With the rumbling lows coming from the hatch and the rest of the sound coming from either side, it is like I'm surrounded by rich creamy sound.

With the very limited EQ controls of the stock headunit I can still jam to all kinds of different music and all volume levels.

The SLC4 works great for me. The sound I get from the subwoofer is nice and crisp and boomy as I like it, it doesn't cut out, gets the job done nicely.

As I said, it's a cheap upgrade, so I've got a very inexpensive subwoofer.

Bazooka

I will get some pictures up in the next few days at the latest.

Good Job!

This is a good example going simple and with out spending lot's of $$$

so just to get all your installation here, what amp did you get?

I have got to get off this forum. Anytime I see something I like, I do it, lol.

I just received my Kenwood KFC-1662S today and will be installing them this Friday.
