Ha lol .. your telling me about them being crazy .. you should invite them up to your hotel room for an unofficial D1/Drift Brigade afterparty ...

I'm on the bottom right.

We had a blast that night after the event. I was drag racing that weekend too (the only Yaris there).

Well that's not too bad then. I think I payed about that much for 4 qts. of Mobile 1 . I'm not seeing a 0W20 weight oil on their web site though. 5W20 should be about the same, yes?

5-w20 is what i use. i dont think there is any dire need to go 0-w20.

I know a bit more about oil.
In general, the first number tells how thin the oil can be when temp at cold, and the second number tells how thin the oil is when engine running hot.

So... it stays like 5-20 when hot.
So... it stays thiner than 5-20 when engine is cold.
So... it is pretty much ready to go even when the engin is cold.

Since we dont push hard our cars in any typical day, this Eneos oil stays thin to give engine easier load and therefore it saves gas a bit more. The downfall: since the oil is not as firm, the engine delivers less power . The other good thing about it is.... I think it is alright to chage oil every 10k mi (believe it or not), but i think I will do it every 6k mi.

Do some google about motor oil if you want to know more.

yes theres a lot more things that can be mentioned about oil viscocities and weights. but didnt think it was relevant here. i dont want to sound like a know-it-all, that gets annoying really fast

At least you realize it. I could give you a couple names you could PM to remind them of that very fact.

Interesting that noone seems to run the Castrol Syntec here. I ran it for 100k in my Neon, and it ran like new the whole time - a real accomplishment for a Neon - and would undoubtedly be running perfectly today if it weren't for that pesky rotten tree that fell in a windstorm and crushed my beloved Neon to scrap...
So, moral of the story: if it preserved a first-gen Neon, I'll trust it in my Toyota as well, with a good Mobil or Bosch filter

The moral to this story: As long as you're running synthetic, you're doing something right. The flavor doesn't matter all that much... personal preference is just that. Just run SYN!

Enos is a overpriced in my opinion. It has a shitty TBN which wont matter if you change your oil every 3000 miles. Its also full of moly because the new enviro oils cant use zinc based extreme pressure additives (which work very well). if your driving hard or in hot climates the viscosity at 100c is light enough it may increase engine wear. If you must go with a JDM oil get the right viscosity grade! Sure your mileage may go up .02 mpg for every 10 weight you go down but your engine will pay the price!
