Have to agree with you.

Glad you're enjoying the new rubber. I love 205/50/16's on this car.

Possible, but I know Michelin has the newer Premier line and A/S 4's, so I can understand these going away. Either way, their performance lines are top shelf all-season tires.

Phenominal ride compared to 45.

Here are pics from today.

The red makes a somewhat simple interior pop, adds a sportiness to it.

Thanks!

This is the first car that I felt is worthy of personalizing(Besides my 80 Rx7).It is so fun of a car. With the rearseat delete, lowering, new dampers and nicer wheels/tires the yaris kind of reminds of my old Rex as in how it feels the road.My rex was red aswell btw.

I have driven my sisters 2013 Acura TL,my other sisters 2016 civic SI and a totally loaded fit.I enjoy and prefer my yaris much more.It may sound odd but there is just something about a yaris HB.

Like I said earlier a second hatch may be in the cards.

I cant believe how many Yaris's are in my area..totally stock and zero rust.

I feel like a kid again owning a yaris with the modifying/personalizing thing.

Coil overs are going through my thoughts...when I really enjoy something I tend to go overboard.

Still have to find a reasonably priced trd swaybar for sure!

Would be nice to snag a used one for sure.

My mom has the ZE950s on her Corolla and I'm running them on my yaris. Best bang for the buck in my opinion. Does great in rain, holds its own in snow, not noisy and seems to not go bald quickly

I agree with Pinch about the fun factor of the Yaris. Especially compared to all the newer civics and what else. A lot of this I believe has to do with the fact that the Yaris is a light car 2300lbs give or take and many other cars are getting heavier and around 3000lbs.

Sure the engines are getting more powerful but the extra weight is offsetting that. Sure the straight line speed may be the same because of a better engine, but a heavier car will almost always degrade the handling compared to a light weight car.

I just wish the Yaris had independent rear suspension, then it'd be a winner for sure.

With a Yaris I can hammer on it and not really have to be worried about going to jail, vs only half throttling a big powerful engine because I can never open it up on the roads without getting arrested.

I'd recommend you save your cash and get a good set of lowering springs (i think you already have those) and some bilstein b8's. Lowering springs are going to cost you over $1k for a good set. If you need to raise and lower your height or you need to make adjustments for tracking the car then CO's are good. But for a better performing dd springs and performance shocks will handle just as well and for less cash and no adjustment.

You can get CO's for cheaper but they won't be better handling per say

Got Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ (205/50/R16) for $110.00 CAD EA.

Nice and quiet, seems good with heavy rain.No complaints....oh and they dont pull or wander like the continentals did on the highway.I think the straight tread pattern that makes the difference.

Yaris has independent rear suspension with integral anti-sway

(Yaris has independent rear suspension with integral anti-sway)
First appeared on VW Rabbit. Tercel had a version. Corolla got one later.
Yaris now seems to do the cross bar as one hollow piece?
By the way...Is Yaris front sway bar hollow?

Rabbit Tercel Corolla Yaris IRS independant rear suspension

It is as independent as ANY "independent rear suspension" geometry with an installed separate sway bar. The only functional difference is that you can't swap in and out bars with different torsional spring rates. (Obviously, a separate bar can be added for more rate.)

The other models you mentioned all had variants with IRS at one time or another. But to my knowledge there has never been a Yaris model with IRS. Perhaps some boutique model in Japan or something but if so I am unaware. Any Yaris model sold in North America has never had IRS.

Imagine if the yaris came stock with IRS and rear discs....man the potential.

Anyway really love my yaris and have no complaints for what it is and was meant to be.

For an econo box it takes first place in my books.

Mine came stock with rear discs. SE baby!

But yeah IRS would be nice. No way Toyota would spend the money to develop it though.
