That sounds a tad high. 183F (84 C) is where my MK2s typically sit, but the service manual says that up to 212F (100C) is normal.

In my Yaris, it typically runs between 188 and 195F (summer) and in stop and go traffic it will go as high as 212F (summer) but the fan doesn't kick in until 208F. In my Echo the fan kicks on at 210-212F.

It seems high compared to some older cars, but for a newer age cars and small engines it seems pretty normal.

Living in Canada, I only ever have my fan kick on during the couple months in the summer when I am using the AC, most of the year my car gets up to about 80C at most

You do a lo of short trips?

Even at 22 C temps in city traffic when stopped the fan will usually run for very brief periods. Mind you, that's in my Echo which has about 1/3 of the rad fins gone so that could also be why

Yeah, mostly 10 mins into town, 10 mins home, but i do ~30min highway trips to work and back but all the air rushing in keeps it below the point where the fan will normally kick in. Also running a higher pressure in the cooling system so that might have some effect as well
