Train Horns on a Yaris

Why? Because I can LOL
I will go over a few of the details. I have to say that for a kit that doesn't use a massive air tank and isn't $500+ I am very happy and impressed.

I wanted the horns to not be visible, and the compressors need to be mounted as far from the engine as possible. Seeing as the yaris engine compartment is short on room, i decided to mount the horns on the steel bumper reinforcement and the compressors/relays on the plastic panel next to the radiator. For the horns I used one of the existing holes on top of the bumper and drilled a hole on the bottom, and mounted the horn themselves on an aluminum bar.

for the two compressors I drilled and mounted them on the outside of the plastic panel. On the backside i used an aluminum bar to help brace the plastic. I ended up having to trim the bumper cover some, but this can be avoided if you mount the compressors lower than I did. Measure twice cut once, do as I say not as I do

I mounted the relays on the backside, ran my wiring and air lines. For power I chose to buy a separate distribution block for boats. I wired the button up and ta da! Done

And a quick clip

Reminds me of the time as a kid I came across a real truck air horn in a junk yard and got it for $5. We disconnected my friends fathers co2 cannister from his beer tap at the bar and blasted ourselves silly!

Might get one of these:

"Arbitrary & capricious" law.
Most likely if challenged would fall. Not specific, two individuals may have two
different standards.
Blow away!

good thing it's not a siren, whistle, or a bell and can be heard at a distance of 200ft. and also, it's texas. rednecks do so many retarded things with their trucks, i don't think the police will car about a horn on a little car...

This is where they would get you, potentially. The fact that these style of horns are used on commercial vehicles means you're probably OK if it goes to court.

Way back when, I installed Ferrari air horns on my Datsun 240Z. They were pretty loud.

Initially, I hooked them up to the factory horn button and disconnected the OEM horn. I soon discover that a very short delay before blast was actually dangerous. So, I wired both horns to overcome that problem.
