Squealing belt and chips on ac compressor pulley

Hi!

So I have a 2009 Yaris sedan. I replaced the belt a few months ago and it has been squealing at start up and it's sort of squeaky while it's being driven. It's not all the time though, but it's getting worse. I had it looked at and it was a bit loose so they tightened it and I'm still having the same issue.

On another note the pulley on the AC compressor (I think it's the ac compressor from looking at diagrams) has bad chips in the pulley part of it (the part the belt is on) any idea why this would be? I don't know a ton about cars but I've never seen that before.

So are these things related, is the car safe to drive, and what do I do about it?

TIA!!!
