Are there alternative jack stand spots? (08 Yaris)
2008 Yaris hatchback
I know where the jack points are in front and back for the floor jack, but i was wondering if there is anywhere else i can safely put jack stands without damaging anything besides the pinch welds behind the front tires and in front of the back tires. All i have for jack stands are ones that have a VERY slightly curved bar at the top, I tried hockey pucks with a groove cut into them under the pinch welds, but the hockey puck started tilting off the stand as i slowly lowered the car down. |

When jacking my Yaris I use a 2"x8" board that allows me to lift the whole side at once. I would think you could do something similar when using jack stands. Bill C

I like to lift on the boxed section of the floor pan, sometimes called a subframe. This tread has some pictures for lifting the entire front or rear.

yes that is good places. also you can jack on the subframe/body bolts, and the center uni-body rail/frame. if you look underneath you can see some rubber body plugs where the vehicle was mounted on the assembly like, this is also a support area.

I finally got around to modifying modifying hockey push with an angle grinder. I'm lowered so I cannot aces the front lift point.
I usually jack my car up about twice a month so the pinch welds are not adequate for that. I now lift at the pinch welds using a puck and then place my jack stands under my control arms for the front (, close to the subframe , possible). For the rear I place the axle on jack stands this way there is no weight on the pinch welds. Worked well this past weekend with no issues.
