2007 LB Yaris - AT - Fluid Change Interval

I have the 2007 LB Auto-Trans, but I cannot find in the manual when I should replace the fluid to save my life! Anyone know? The stupid manual is vague

From my owner's manual:

AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE
Fluid capacity (drain and refill),
L (qt., lmp. qt.): Up to 2.5 (2.6, 2.2)
Fluid type: Toyota Genuine ATF WS

Inspect: Every 40000 km (24000 miles) or 24 months
Replace: Every 80000 km (48000 miles) or 48 months

Mine says inspect every 30,000 miles and replace only as nessasary. My 05' 4-Runner NEVER had a scheduled tranny service under normal operating conditions and apparently this doesn't either

This is what I read as well. No drain interval for the auto tranny. RAZR is from Thailand and theirs must be slightly different, or someone was doing a little CYA down there.

So the books says to "inspect" the fluid. What the hell does that mean? Are we to see if it is "dirty"? Of course we're expected to make sure the fluid is up to the fill line, but that aside, it seems stupid Toyota is too vague on this.

UPDATE: I noticed that if the car engine is warm/hot the noise disappears from the tranny when placed in reverse....it seems this is a cold morning thing?

I've no doubt that driving a car in Thailand qualifies as "extreme conditions" when compared to the cool and clean-aired West :)
