2000 1.0 4cyl engine repair manual??

hi all,

i am trying to find a repair manual for the 2000 4 cyl 1 litre engine.

i have a misfire on cyl 1 .. its not the coil packs or the spark plugs and the plug has a good spark when held on the engine.

Im starting to suspect injector.

the onlz manuas i can find are body related.. nothing to do with the engine sadly....

thanks for any links in advance

That would be the 1SZ-FE. I have the manual for the newer 1.0L 1KR-FE, but not for the 1SZ. The injector would be a logical choice. Have you done a compression check on the engine?

Not yet.. that's my next step before taking anything else apart. It has 50k miles so not huge but never know it could be a valve.

i had a compression test today ZERO compression on cylinder 1 ...

garage said its about 1400 euro to do.. bit over 1000 GB pounds eeeeekkkkkk!

i can get the cylinder head gasket kit and valves for about 150 pounds...

my only concern is if its the rings etc then its a bigger job.

i get the head off tomorrow

You can check if it's the rings or the head without much effort. Get a compression tester, run a compression test (lots of sites will explain how). On the leaky cylinder, add a little bit of oil and try compression testing again. If the test shows much improved compression, your rings are bad (or otherwise you have issues with the bore). If there is no difference, your valves are bad.

It will save you money and effort and may help you decide just what you do and don't want to do.

I borscoped the cylinders yesterday. ..

1 exhaust valve burnt and possibly the seat on cyl 1 plus another valve starting to burn on cyl 4.

If the seat has gone I look for a recon head.
