2014 Yaris Cruise Control - No Success

Hello to all

Am new in this forum
I have this Yaris model, and after browsing this forum for a long time, decided to install the Cruise control (CC):

NLP130L-CHFNXW (2014 European Model MT)
ENGINE: 1NDTV 1400cc Diesel turbo

I confirmed the Backlight in dash (Set & Cruise Control indicator)
Bought on-line the hardware (not original Toyota).
After this and all reinstall, Hit the "RES" button, but no light at Dash – NO success.
So, I've searched the forum, a User say that it's possible on the Diesel Engine.

so, may anyone help me, its no possible to install CC in Diesel models? or need to perform more actions to do it?

Kind regards
Paulo

Hi Paulo,

The first thing to do is press in the button on the end of the stalk. This should turn the dashboard light on. Pressing the button again will turn the cruise control off.

Once the cruise control is on, you need to push the lever down to set an initial speed. You must be doing at least 40 kph for this.

With a manual transmission, there is also a switch that must be installed on the clutch pedal. This switch cancels the set speed when you push in the clutch pedal. Leaving thismswitch out on a manual transmission will not allow you to set a speed.

Hello Kevinj93,

First, a big thank you for your help.
I did as you said, pressed the button on the stalk, but nothing happened, no light on dash....but i will try again tomorrow.
On the other side, the clutch switch will required more attention, must be connect to somewhere.. i think...do you know where?

Kind regards

Hi Lancap,

Firstly, I have no real knowledge of the diesel Yaris, as we have never had them here in Australia. Perhaps another diesel owner can chime in with some information, but if the dash light doesn't illuminate I would guess that the ECU does not support cruise control. There are reports of the earlier model Yaris where he cruise control would work but not illuminate the dash light, so I am not certain.

However, with the petrol engines, there is a switch that repaces the stop bolt on the clutch pedal. This bolt normally adjusts the rest position of the clutch pedal. The switch is part number 88280-14030, andthere should be a connector for it, possibly taped up in the wiring loom near the pedal. This switch not being installed will prevent the criuse control being engaged.

The switch is "normally closed" (makes contact) until the clutch pedal is pushed. It then opens the contacts and disengages the cruise control.

Kevin,

Once again, thank you.

Yes, must have something different with the Diesel models.
Tried again and again, no lights on dash, and running do not work also.

I am going to check the switch on my other Toyota (Auris 1,6 petrol valvematic 2015 - has CC)

I will also wait, for any owner of a diesel model who has already tried to install the CC
Regards
