The Autopower 4pt roll bar...in the 2zrVios...project

I know it is no big deal for a Autopower roll bar to be installed in a Yaris by now, but how about a sedan...

I got this used roll bar from miniTRD's old Yaris LB, and my plan is to figure out the necessary modifications to weld it into my sedan with a harness bar the proper way...and possibly add other supporting bars.

Update: I talked to Autopower today about sourcing additional bars for these "street" Yaris roll bars. The roll bar I have is for the Yaris LB and it does have a serial number on the base(61461) but Autopower only made a few of these, and they haven't made any in a while. They do keep cross-bars and harness-bars in stock though, that makes my conversion to a "race" roll bar easy. For those interested, the Autopower main hoop is 11ft 1inch long. 1.750 x .120 DOM

Next step, strip out the interior.

This is fantastic. Totally excited to see how this turns out.

and also for those interested, I have a new one, still wrapped the way it came from Autopower (by way of MI). Installing it would essentially make my 60/40 split seat useless. Either it stays down, or stays up. At least, that's what it seems like.

If not, whatever. I may decide to take it racing again down the line

We made some good progress today on the 2zrVios. Stripped out the entire interior, removed the dash to remove the HVAC assembly and all of the airbag components, then reinstalled the upper dash pad and front seats so we can drive it over to Autopower for roll bar work.

A little update, I removed the a/c compressor and remaining lines from the 2zr. I just need to go to an auto parts store and get a random belt to fit.

So you're going to run F mod in solo? What about club racing?

The main goal is to run all NASA HPDE next year, solo is not the priority any longer

I was just thinking about doing this, the only thing I wondered about was making sure the w/p was spinning, the location of the a/c compressor puts some extra pressure against the w/p.

I guess, in theory, it should totally work. I am probably just over thinking it.

All of the non-a/c Yaris 1nz's have the belt ran exactly like the bottom picture. See if you can find a picture of that diagram too.
