New Yaris '07

For some insane reason my local Toyota dealer has 2 5-door hatches with the B-package in stock ... one copper orange mica and the other bayou blue. I'm picking up the blue one.

Wish me luck! Hopefully pictures coming soon.

Woot I have it!

The only questions I have is: Should I get the rust proofing package? It's kind of expensive for rust proofing, at $650 CAD plus taxes. Though it offeres a lifetime guarantee ... but other places only cost $75 for rust proofing, though you have to go back every year to get it re-done ...

Any suggestions? (By the way, I live in Canada where the winters are pretty bad for cars. Lots of salt and sand on the roads.)

I have seen pre and post salt exposure pictures and you should definitely get the protection if you are not leasing.

Then again, Toyota offers a corrosion warranty for a reason.

Nope I'm not leasing ... I purchased the car. I'm not sure which to do - the rustproof from Toyota, or from a 3rd party place?

I woudlnt really bother with it, for 600 bones, get a can of that insta truck bed liner spray and go buck wild =D, jk. If your going to own the car for 12 years, then get it, but if its less dont bother. Just make sure you wash it enough and get the car wash w/ the underbody spray once every 2 weeks at least in the winter.

toyota rustproofs the car anyways, that is why they have a corrosion warranty.
