Dang our pcv systems sure do like to suck up oil!!!

Okay so i installed a oil catch can using the home made home depo filter.

After about 2 weeks i can already see a teaspoon of oil. I am figuring the way things are going the filter should be completely full by the time its due for another oil change. Cant belive how much oil is going into the intake.

I cant imagine without this mod how much oil buildup residue is going to be coating the intake, valves etc.

For the cheap cost and if you dont mind emptying the oil it catches every few months i would highly reccomend this for all members.

That's why I have to install my catch can. That oil is coating the inside of my S/C and I'm not sure how to clean it.

I'm too lazy to search while I'm at work. Where is the Seafoam introduced? In front of the throttle body?

Behind the throttle usually. You can even take the tube of the pcv valve and get a areosal version of seafoam and spray it down. Will clean all the oil and carbon buildup off your intake manifold as well as clean your valves and any carbon buildup in the motor.

does the catch can go on the line that goes from valve cover to intake, or pcv valve to manifold?

best way is to let it suck in about half a can slowly. Then shut the car off and let it soak for a hour. Then run the other half to clean out the soften carbon and gunk. Then the car will smoke like something fierce.

I think the engine needs some top oil going on the valve stems at cyl top. Maybe you got too much oil in your engine. I only put 3.5-3.75 Qt and have zero oil usage.

hey kenkyd, home depot has it but by a differnet company. At home depot there in the air compressor section. Just take a photo of it, since they'll have no idea what your talking about with out it.

You must not be draining it all out Dont use ramps and make sure the drain plug is tilting to the downhill if you car is not on a perfectly flat driveway
