Thumbs down Watch out for debris

Unfortunately I have some bad news to announce
I was heading into work yesterday morning at around 4:30am. I was traveling on the interstate and a semi was in the lane next to me about a car length or so ahead of me. He ran over something that looked to be a piece of shredded tire and it was heading straight for my windshield. So I swerved hard and it still hit. i stopped at a gas station at the next exit and looked at the damage...

i believe it was one of those big metal wrenches that truckers use to tie down their loads. but had i not swerved when i did, it would have taken my head off so i'm counting my blessings. I get the estimate and insurance stuff started on tuesday so it'll be a while before she's fixed

and i just installed eyelids on her too. DAMNIT!

Very sorry to see this. I barely avoided a possible roll over myself New Year's Eve. What has happened to you is what I am afraid of happening to me since moving down to the Gump.

Damn, that sucks.

Had the same thing happen to me quite a while ago with my old ZX2. Was passing a truck as it decided to rid itself of a tire retread. Came off of the truck, bounced once, hit the windshield, bounced off the open moon roof and landed somewhere in the road behind me. Scared the bejeezus out of me, and I definitely didn't have the time or room to dodge it. Luckily there was no damage in my case.

Glad that you had the chance to swerve out of the way in time, and are safe and sound. That could have been a very bad situation otherwise.

When it gets towards the end of the month and moving day all kinds of crap comes flying off pick up trucks. Couches, chairs, ladders end up on the road. At highway speeds the stuff comes up fast. Glad that you are ok.

Yeah I'm definitely glad it was the car and not me. And the car will be fixed and back up to normal soon enough! I'll keep you guys updated on the progress.
