Megan Header Vs. Generic Equivalent?

You all know what the Megan header looks like. Well here is the generic equivalent header, exact replica with the exception of the name:

CLICKY

I believe that the generic header manufacturer is the same manufacturer that builds Megan's Yaris header. So can anyone tell me what the difference is between these two? Because if it is just the name, I'd rather save $80 and get this one. Any thoughts are welcome, thanks!

If its anything like pocket bikes, there will be different factories in china copying each other. You don't know the quality till you get the piece in your hand and/or try to bolt it on. Not all chinese poducts are created equal, even though they may look the same in pictures. That being said,I have no idea if its the same thing or not but I would lean towards the answer being yes.

bet it is the same but don't get mad at me if it's junk

I think megan just labels other peoples stuff and has it distributed right, do they make any of their own stuff or are they just a brand?

Hmm, so if it is a copy of the original and the quality is a bit tainted, would it be worth the $80 savings? I'm worried about holes not lining up, rougher pipe inner surfaces, etc. Hell, who knows how far off the jig is? I think I'll just play it safe and go with the Megan piece, unless someone who has been the guinea pig speaks up. Someone should try this one though. It'll save everyone else installing headers after them $80 a pop!

Also, that eBay seller ALSO sells the Megan header. I bet they are the same... but I need proof.

It could be possible they are megan branded. I bought some "generic" support braces off of ebay, and to my surprise they were Megan and the quality was better than I expected, although there were no installation instructions. Chino told me the megan header was flawed, so I have been avoiding it. Besides, I desperately need to drop my Yaris.

For what its worth I bought a replica exhaust of some sort, off ebay for my brothers 06 wrx. I looked real nice, but the fitment wasn't perfect, you can hear the exhaust smack the bottom of the car somtimes. Its off ever so slightly. So you really do get what you pay for. I'm sure it makes just as much power and the same sound of the product its copying,But now since we saved $100+ dollars we always gotta hear that exhaust knock the floor. Could proably have it fixed in a jiffy at an exhaust shop, its not my say though.

Another thing to consider, the scions are making power off a 4-2-1 header, thats what I would hold out for.

The Megan header is not all that great in itself, and if this is a copy of the Megan, then it is a case of crap getting crappier!

I'm happy with my Megan Header. It seems that I'm getting alot of Blitz and Megan parts these days. The Megan catch tank is a replica of the Greddy and the coilovers are a knock off of some Japanese brand as well. I was looking at the K Sport coilovers and they look like the C-one coilovers.
even the gauges are a copy of Defi or something.

My question: how much of a difference did the header actually make for you? Did it just change the sound, or was there truly a power gain?
