Buzzing from my tube
Hi all,
I am sure that some of you recall me asking for help installing my bazooka tube. Well I have sucessfully installed it, but I have run into one small problem. It seems as though my DRL is causing the subs to buzz/rumble while they are on. When I power on the car its fine, but when I disengage the parking brake it starts. BUT if I turn my headlights on...its gone! Have any of you guys run into this? I ran my power on the right side along with the remote turn on and the RCA's are on the left. Thanks for the help, MYT |

Caw?

Sounds like maybe a bad ground or bad pair of rcas. Not sure why it would be affected by the DRl's. Did you tap into the same power source or ground somehow?

Did you ground to the chasis of the car? Also you did run the power directly to the battery right? How about the remote wire?

I drilled my ground in the floor in the spare tire well...is that a good spot? I did run the power directly and the remote turn on wire is going to the radio. I don't have a remote that runs up front I have to control the gain from the unit(if thats what you meant) Its bugging me though. I would think that if I messed the install up somehow...there would always be that buzz, but it only happens with the DRL are on.

The Tube I bought my gf produced a weird buzzing sound (low pitched) when ever we would close her trunk. I solved it by strapping it down properly and securely.

Hmm I will try that.. it isn't strapped down. But I don't see why it would only do it with the DRL on...maybe I will just disable them.

That part I have no clue. I also don't have a clue why it was doing that with my gf's car. I don't see the connection between the trunk and the sub. hehe. Sometimes the answer is the one you least expect.
