Yaris keeps breaking down.
I bought my yaris Jan'07. 2 weeks later it sounds like a T-model ford. click clack clack clack! Turns out the air conditioning unit had shred itself. So the whole ac unit was replaced.
August '07 same thing. They replace the unit and then some. September '07 Ohh, guess what same thing! They replace it again. Present: My interior lights don't turn on and there is water leaking all over the passenger side. Now my car smells like mildew Oh my god!! My Yaris is a lemon. Has anybody had these problems. |

Sounds like a lemon all right.
What does the dealer say about it? |

Don't settle unless you get a new car. Tell them about the lemon law and call up Toyota. Get a lawyer if you have to.

Sorry about your Yaris. You will need to be forceful with the dealer. Don't let them run the show as more than likely they will give your the run around until you get tired and just accept it. As the others have said, you might need a lawyer if the dealer does not come through. But definitely work yourself up the chain of command. And keep all your documentation, take pictures of your car, and make sure you get everything in writing (in other words do not let the dealer tell you things orally as he/she can later come back and say "I never said that".)
Good luck and keep us updated on your issue. Kevin |

^ yes, but also be civilized when you speak to the GM or sales manager. and written contracts/agreements will always, ALWAYS be better than oral one. i learned that the hard way with an apartment security deposit.

I agree. I think the time has come for a new vehicle. If they can't fix it properly, it suggests there's something wrong with the car causing these issues.
Like people said, be nice about it though, but be forceful when you have to be. Don't let them walk over you, but don't be rude and threatening with a lawyer etc unless you have to be. It's annoying and it sucks that you're going through this, but if you deal with people nicely, things usually work out best for everyone. Good luck and let us know how it goes. |

yes, i had to deal with two companies with my Yaris, Toyota and a company called Autohaus (if you want to hear my whining, search Autohaus here). i was nice to Toyota since the GM and sales managers were trying to help me out, and they couldn't really do anything since the defective part on my Yaris was from and installed by Autohaus. however, i was nice up until a certain point with Autohaus. they scratched my car not once, but twice. fools paid for one scratch to be fixed, but denied to fix the second. and after 8 times and almost 1000 miles of driving to get my car repaired, i called the Autohaus store and told one of the managers, "this is the eighth time there's been a problem with your product and i'm tired of it. i demand two thousand dollars from you guys for all the trouble you put me through..." and they complied. they gave me a check for two grand...
