I'm becoming somewhat obsessed with the 2015 Toyota Yaris. It seems to be what I'm looking for in size, mpg, comfort and 'X' marks the spot looks. Bring some new information to the dinner table, Toyota!

I test drove a FiestaST yesterday. I wish Toyota had an Abarth or ST competitor I could step up to this December. ...

I'm just not a fan of the "teardrop" shaped fog-light housing that Toyota has fallen in love with on many of their newer models (even the current Yaris SE). :(
Currently, the 2015 Mazda2 (assuming that it will even make it to the USA this time around) is looking very nice from what I have seen thus far. Still, my first preference is to pick up a white 2009-2011 Yaris hatchback or sedan of some kind later this year (though a 2007-2008, or 2012-2013 is not out of the question either). |

Hopefully for 2015 they'll update the engine to at least 125 horsepower with 115 ft lbs of torque 1.8 liters. The 4 speed auto just ain't cutting it anymore.

It does look better than the new god-awful 2015 Honda Fit model, but not sure yet how it will stack up to the new production-version 2015 Mazda2 (which looked great in the concept model, minus those awful alloys). The alloys on that new Yaris in the video looked pretty awful also though. :(

Some other exterior/interior pictures and color/alloy variations of the 2015 Yaris Hatchback are in this article:
http://www.autogo.ca/en/news/industr...new-2015-yaris The front-end design still looks a bit strange and over-the-top (IMO), but not too bad overall. It kind of grows on you after a bit. I like it better than the current LE/SE trim designs, especially some of the rear-end refinements (revised taillights, styled black trim w/reflectors on lower bumper design, etc.). I would have to get that chrome vanity strip on the back painted to match the body though - I hate those chrome rear trunk/hatch accent strips that everyone seems to do now. |

Oh well, we're only gonna get a no frills stripper, 5 speed automatic model in the US anyway.

Looks like the Mazda2 will be a 2016 model...putting the Yaris replacement to 2016 or 2017?
http://www.cnet.com/products/2016-mazda-mazda2/ and a video for the home market Unveiling of new Mazda2: http://youtu.be/lJuWw0_y4Ic Certainly looks like good bones.

Obviously we will not get the full auto climate control, leather seats and moonroof. The 2 competes with other sub 10k cars... So it will come with manual transmission. W |
