Oregon Region Event #2: Video and Photos

Well, event #2 is in the books. The Yaris did pretty well, although I had a hard time deciding whether to bump the rev limiter in 1st, or to shift into 2nd and dog it a bit in some areas of the course. I tried both; it didn't make much of a difference. Oh what I wouldn't give for a limited slip diff, too. I think I placed 2nd out of 4 in ST, but I'm not 100% sure yet as the results haven't been posted.

Anyways, some other cool cars there, and I got some vids on my blog.

Check it:

How many cars attend your event?. Yesterday was lighter than normal yet I think we were pushing 150 cars.

Up here they break the day up into parts: Yesterday morning were prepared and mod classes; in the afternoon were stock and street tire. Totals (all day) are usually around 100. Runs are very short, though; usually around 40-45 seconds.

Back in Milwaukee, WI (where I first started autocrossing), it was no big deal to have 150 cars either.

the car would really do good with an LSD... the rep i have been in contact with at tokico really believes this car is the next "EG hatch" type car. its so light, cheap, and easily modified... its exciting to see where it goes

I think he's on to something. I've had a couple of people compare it to the EG. Granted, the Civic had a full IRS, but still. The Yaris is pretty light.
