Sway bar noise?
Hey guys, i've recently installed the Ultra racing 23mm sway bar on my Yaris, and it works great!
But ever since i've put it on, i've noticed a thumping noise whenever I drive over a bump in the road. I want to say it sounds like the shock absorbers, but i've never noticed them making this much noise before. I have no other suspension mods, i'm on stock wheels and tires, and i'm only at 20k miles. I'm not too worried about it as the car doesn't feel like anything is wrong, I just wonder what it is and if I should be worried about it. |

Noises should be explained, in my opinion. I would get under there and look for worn/bare/shiny spots where any contact might show.
Blue painter's tape or chalk can also be used to "mark" suspect areas. Can you post a picture of the installed bar? Are the bolts torqued down properly for sure? Re-torqued?

as garm says it sounds like rubbing between the bar and maybe the bottom of the shock? Perhaps on of the bolts has come loose and there's play which sounds like a thump in the cabin.

I was going to check if the bolts were loose anyway, as i've read that you need to tighten them after you've driven the car for a little while after it's installed. The ones on the shocks were a little loose, I got them tightened up so i'm going to try and go for a drive this evening and see if that has solved it. Thanks for your help guys! |

I found that... once tight, the 4 bolts on the UR23mm do not tend to work themselves loose after many miles of driving. over 15,000 on it and not once have they loosened
