1ZZ Throttle+Bomz intake=Power!

I installed the throttle body I got from Garm. Instead of the stock intake, I used a Bomz intake - I just could note get the stock rubber intake tube over the new throttle body. The Bomz silcone intake adapter was a breeze. Install was not very hard at all - just a pain in the ass to get to the wheel well to get the filter on. While I was down there, I decided to pop out the black plastic insert where the fog light goes just to see if a bit more cold air will make a difference.

Wow! Power/torque in the whole PM range with the most prominent gain in the mid and upper ranges. I had only a bit of mild oscillation on the initial start up and no problems since. For the price, this is a MUST mod.

Interestingly my exhaust sounds louder. It is not coming from the front as I expected.

Just make sure you follow all the instructions on the website, gasket sealer is a good idea, disconnect the battery for a while(only did mine for 30 min and left the light switch on)

I will modify the L foglight plastic insert into something more cosmetically pleasing. I will also change the silicon to black and paint the intake tube flat black.

hey brian, I actually got an idea for that foglight cover. Remember I told you I was trying to work on something for it? well I think I got it figured out. After I actually do the process I'll let you see it maybe at the meet or something.

I dont know what the hell my issue was, but with this EXACT combination of TB (chip swap) and intake, I could NOT get it to idle at all, and throttle response was non-existant.

Im thinking about starting again with the throttle body from garm, as I dont know if mine was damaged or what.

^ it wasnt damaged. well at least for 2 days i didnt feel anything besides the retarded oscillation. i took it off again though because i needed to finish off cleaning the gasket thing from the tb, then hopefully i would put it back on int time for the rockland show, if work permits.

^ what I got wasnt the 2-3k rpm oscillation that others got, I got 4-5k oscillation and the chip swap made no difference, however I do not believe I had a good seal on the Tb and intake mani

The other thing I have noticed is much quicker throttle response. I am glad I never got a Blitz Throttle controller!
