Scanguage II

I have a question for anyone that is using the Scanguage, I see that it shows your rpm's but does it turn a certain color or does it flicker when you get to redline, or how does it warn you that you got to redline. my car does not have a rpm guage so I am trying to decide if this will be a good buy before I buy it.

There is not a redline indicator on the SGII. It will happily display numbers until pieces of metal shoot through the hood.

You could just add a tach, even the 30 dollar auto part store cheapos work...I have one in my car. It took about an hour to install, that's taking my sweet time, heat shrinking connections and adding spade terminals for easy removal.

another alternative is the ultragauge that you can actually set up an audible alarm but I don't think it reacts that fast. mine was set (from the factory) at 4000 rpms and the thing went off after I had already shifted.

I second adding a tach. it isn't hard to do and there is a DIY on here somewhere so it is really easy.

also realize that the refresh rate of either the scangauge or ultragauge is really slow. the tachs that you buy that are dedicated tachs react a lot faster.
