Intrest in a sedan center exhaust rear section?

I can produce them if wanted...or just about anything else using my car as a jig. Ive done it before i can again. I an do mild or loud options all in 409ss to match the factory exhaust.

Next week i may swap my stock exhaust back on and whip up a center rear section to see what its going to take.

I'd be more interested in a legitimate header back exhaust option. Seems pointless to have header and axle back when the mid pipe is somewhat restrictive... Kinda wishing I had a hatch merely for that reason.

Its doable...just a little more complicated to produce. And i would not be able to sell that to california residents b/c emissions

Come on, malibu...
If California can produce and sell $14,000,000,000 worth of pot every year, you can certainly sell one little exhaust.

Wow... car exhausts are illegal contraband?
Sorry, didn't know it was that bad.
I'll be glad when the government
goes bankrupt like Greece.

How much do you think an axle back would cost? I wouldn't mind it being loud as long as it has a nice low rumble to it.

I don't think it is. Megan is making a midpipe for us for the liftback, that is 100% legal to sell, and Megan Racing is located in SoCal.
However, it is "for show and offroad use only" and must be clearly marked and marketed as such.

malibuguy, can't you do the same thing?

I put the car on the lift the other day to start planning...

There is no easy convienent way to hang the center exhaust without drilling.

However...dual tailpipes (one on each side) is very doable as there is threaded bolt holes in the frame rail on the driver side. I think im going to make duals one day just for the hell of it....

Wouldn't that make it easy enough to route pipes and hang them from the edges but not exit the car on the edges? Can't they be run from the edges to the middle without a hangar in the middle or is that too much pipe to have unsuspended?

Don't know for sure because I have a liftback. Just thinking out loud.

if you do a cat back...make it so we can bolt the cat to axle section to an other axle-back system :)

The only downsidento doing a cat back like that. Is that i would have to reduce the tubing to a smaller size to make an oem replica connection to allow maximum flexablilty. Really a bunch of work to work backwards.

Ideally an exhaust needs support every 3-5ft of pipe and just about every direction change. Without easy convienent holes to support a center exit pretty much kills my idea of a production run. Im not saying it cant be done. Im just not drilling extra holes in my car.

I share your aversion for drilling on a vehicle. It's not worth the loss of strength and the hightened likelyhood of rust. I did have to drill one tiny hole for mine, and made sure it was in a noncritical area.

When I think of a dual conversion for a Yaris, this design seems to make some sense as long as the muffler is small and nothing hot is near the brain.

That made me think of the ECU, which is just a few inches from the exhaust header.

Hey, you're right! I didn't even think of that.
I was thinking of that big plastic looking box underneath the rear. Is that also electronic?
