Keyless entry not working

I have a 2007 yaris with keyless entry and this also means it has a start button rather than you putting your keys in the ignition. This weekend the fob has completely stopped working even though the battery is relatively new and the red light comes on. I think it needs reprogramming and while I've seen lots of posts with instructions on how to do this, they all involve putting the keys on the ignition. This isn't possible for me but I'd rather avoid having to tow my car to the garage to sort this out so if anyone knows how to reprogramme the fob for this type of yaris I'd be eternally gratefully grateful!

Hmm.. you should still be able to start the car, get around to get this fixed. So you don't need to have your car towed.

Reprogramming for the smart entry system requires the Toyota service tool. If you hold the remote in close proximity to the push to start button what do the lights do on the PTS button?

I doubt it needs reprogramming unless it has been electrically damaged. You should be able to start by putting the fob right upto the start button. If you have the user manual for the car, its explained in there.
