100k preventative maintenance [2012 Hatch]
Getting ready to do the typical 100k on my 2012 hatch.
Wondering if it would be worth it to do the water pump, thermostat, and hoses as preventative maintenance since I will have the cooling system open already. They show no signs of failure, but I live in the high desert and rubber things have a tendency to dry out. Worth it to spend the $110 on parts, or let it ride? I know earlier models had some failure prone cooling system components. |

Since you're in there already, might as well replace everything. I take it you're in Nevada. I always assumed they used road salts there? I'm sure that degrades the life of metals and rubbers.
I'm sure you know, but also use new coolant. Don't reuse what you drain out. And replace the belt too. |
