Mysterious extra wiring harness in door

Today I began the sound deadening project in my 3-door hatchback. When I removed the door panels, I noticed an extra wiring harness at the top near the front. Does anybody know what this is for? It has 5 wires going to it (white, white, black, purple, light blue). It's in a good position to use for a tweeter, but I have no idea where it leads to.

Aha. Thanks.

Another question — there is some foam in here, I'm wondering what it's for. There is a chunk of rigid styrofoam bolted to the outer door skin, about 1.5" thick. I've heard it's related to the window, but there's about 1/4" clearance so the window never touches it.
Also - attached to the plastic door panel, there are 2 pieces of high density molded foam that fit into the holes in the inner door skin. I'm going to be covering the door, including those holes, with MLV, so this foam will be in the way. Are these just there to stiffen the door? Has anyone removed them and had any problems with the door being flimsy?

I believe that they are actually part of the crash system for the car. The do provide some stiffening, but not enough where you would notice if they were gone.

Theoretically yes. I believe that the foam is there to help during side impact.
