I don't live in a place where people really are rude enough to make lame comments...My friend ribbed me about it for a bit until he sat in my '12 Yaris and commented how nice it felt. Now he regrets owning a Jeep and spending three times as much per month in fuel compared to me.

Most people are finding the car ridiculous. (Size)

Suspecting I am a tree hugger.

Did your wife take the house and the pickup ?

A guy your age certainly should drive something else

Nobody has ever had anything negative to say about my Yaris bit if they did I would be quick to tell them what a great, well designed, reliable, practical car it is.

I had a couple of friends pick on me about my car. Saying it is a girl car or even a gay car. Well the only thing I say is if it is a girls car then good, that means all of the girls will like my car. And they are wrong when they say it is a gay car because it is my car, and I am NOT gay. I also like to brag to my friends that I always average 36 miles per gallon. So, it doesn't really bother me that much when people make fun of my car. I like it, and that is what counts!!! Oh yeah, a lot of people like my car also.

My sister-in-law calls it 'the car with the little piggy nose'.

I've been asked if it's an electric car. When I tell them what kind of mileage I get, they think it's pretty good. I get 32mpg, but my driving is all city driving.

I was cruising down the interstate the other day and noticed an unusually small something coming from the other direction. I kept my eye on it wondering what it was, as it got closer I identified it as...... an HB Yaris just like mine! Point being I forget how tiny they are, they feel much bigger when inside driving one, mine does to me anyway.

BTW: I left the gas hog 4x4 at home today ('99 Rav4, it only gets 28 to 30 mpg, thus the term, at least as compared to the Yaris), and as luck would have it a big storm blew in. Getting back up the mountain was going to be a bitch, 35 years of living up here I know all the signs, so I stopped at the bottom and aired down my tires to 25 psi from the usual 46. Made it home, not something I'd want to do often but it beat walking.

I've been getting more and more "what the hell car is that?!" with the 2013 lol. Once I go badge-less I think I'm going to create some sort of crazy story about how I won it in a Japanese game show or something.

Funniest thing that happened? A 30 something guy walks by my Yaris SE and keeps on staring. I ignore him, but the next thing that happens stuns me. The guy walks right into a moving cyclist and they both wipe out. Next thing I know, the 30 something guy, bloody-teeth and cut-up-hands and all, says:

"Is your Yaris okay (pointing to the cyclist). . . Be my witness (turning to me)?".

Long story short, the cyclist walked away with his mangled bike and the 30 something guy turned out to be a Yaris fan (albeit a silly one.).
