Is that a plastic strap holding it in?

Yes, it has a plastic mount. A holder at the neck and this strap in the center.

...NCRC didn't specify a type of mount, I'm guessing you would recommend a metal bracket lol. Im a track noob

No problem! I had a great day there, passing many cars that were surprised a yaris was there....and they would come over later to inspect and ask "why so quick"....my only answer was "Tires and autocross experience". Big thanks to Jason and Bobby for helping me prepare!

Looked great out there. Yea, Whenever I go to Roebling Road Race way here for a track day. there are 9 turns and 1 long straight away. Which is fun because I tend to always catch the Mustangs and other high dollar cars by turn 5. Track days are so much fun

Same here, catching everyone in the turns after they blow by on the straights haha. The only problem is, going over the cyclone with less than half a tank of fuel, I got fuel starvation a few times and went into limp mode....just cycled the key and went back to it! Haha

HAhAhA.. I have yet to have fuel starvation yet and I run with 1 bar blinking fast at autocross events sometimes.

I do the same in autox....with no issues. I guess when you add rapid elevation change and a 1G turn....thats when it happens.

Sparco Sprint 5 Race seat

Well, the days following my track sessions revealed another weakness in my car setup...mainly the seat. My forearms were very sore for about 3 days after doing the 5, 20 minute sessions. I have a quick release harness for my stock Sedan S seat, and it works great in autocross...but clearly that's not sufficient for the track. Turn 2 at ThunderHill is a long left turn at about 70mph, easily 1G....and I can remember struggling to hold on towards the end of my sessions. A new 5pt harness is on the way also.

Are you using a harness bar? if so, is it custom make or is it one of those ebay "universal" ones? Or is there a reputable vendor that you buy from?
