Hello, What does everyone think of the TRD 18 inch rims?

I have an 07 sedan S right now and am anxiously waiting on the arrival of my special order Meteorite Metallic 5 door LB S. The five door will have the TRD 18 in rims, TRD lowering springs, TRD shocks/struts, TRD sway rear sway bar, and the TRD air filter.

The Yaris is going to look like the one below.

ehh I'm a fan of the smaller lightweight wheels, but for five spokes they aren't bad :)

its an ok wheel but so many people have them that they are pretty much like having factory alloys

One of the reasons I ordered the TRD wheels is because I am essentially guaranteed I will have no problems with my tire pressure monitoring system since it will be a port installed option. All 2009 and newer vehicles are now required by the government to have these sensors in the wheels (at least in the USA) - otherwise I am with you, I like small wheels.

Did you install install the TRD shocks with the springs?

I like them, but they do look kinda goofy with the stock brakes...

Great looking set-up. But yes, the brakes do look rather puny inside 18's. Nothing more money can't fix though.

Don't worry about the TPMS. Most rims will work with 'em. TPMS are required to be installed by the factory, but aren't required to be left on the car after purchase.

Everything TRD will work. The shocks, struts, and whatever that last item was, should be okay together.

I think TRD used massive 18s on our Yaris, because they may have been thinking super BBK for the Yaris. I'd only guess, because of this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icbKJz-1VJE

Depends on the roads you drive on as well. If I put 18s on mine they would be square in a week from how bad the roads are around me.

Don't know what's with those rims.

But I have lost track of how many "for sale cheap" adds I have seen here and on ebay for those wheels. Looks like people get tired of them very quickly.

And yeah, I read some were these are well over 20lbs each

Not good for the lill Yaris!

You can get some affordable 17" wheels weighting around 15-16lbs, and have a much better and comfortable ride with minimal sacrifices to the MPG and acceleration.

Those TRDs can take a beating though.

What can I say.... my car was a gift and it had them on. So for me they are normal, the ride quality is drastically reduced, even running over a rat feels like a poth-hole

But they do look good specially in sedans. But I'am planning on getting some 15's for daily and leaving the 18's just for show.

and........they are hard as hell!!! I have taken poth-hole as u can't imagine and they are still going.

imo, large, heavy rims affect acceleration and braking too significantly to use. but they look nice....

IMHO, the TRD's are a poor fitment for the Yaris.

HEAVY yes, looks CRAPPY with stock brakes yes, but you forgot ROUGH ride and easy to curb damage.all in all im glad i decided to go black on my set and i must say it looks good as well......
