Are you sure that the code is P0403? That code is: "Exhaust Gas Recirculation Circuit Malfunction", but I don't believe that the 1KR-FE has a solenoid actuated EGR, which is why P0403 isn't listed in the DTC list for the 1KR-FE.

hi all just bought a toyota vitz ksp90 (990cc) the car starts with a terrible sound as if it is running on diesel, though teh car runs on petrol. and when it is idle it shakes a lot. but when i drive all teh noise and rattling dissapers and i a a very good ride. i have been told that 3 cylinder engines do produce this. is it normal
