Strange knocking in Engine :(

(STRANGE KNOCKING) Hi all,

Could someone guide me, I have Yaris 2002 1.0 VVT-i
I use LPG sistem,
Question: After driving for 30 min or more, until the engine heat`s up, than in idle i hear some knocking noise, soon as i give more gas the knocking is gone, it sounds like some nice diesel car (just a little knocking but not usual for petrol cars) I have chaked the valves at the service, they are OK, i have change the oil , but its all the same. Yaris has 77.000 km, Can it be the Chain Drive??? And on what km/mile has to be changed?

Thank you all

There is no specified time to change the timing chain and I really do not think yours is bad at only 77k km. Also the valves would not cause a knock. You say the engine is knocking at idle? But the knock goes away after accelerating the engine? And does this happen before the car warms up? Or after?
I wish we had that 1.0 liter engine here in the US!

I think he is describing valve ticking, this is a tough fix on these cars with the mechanical valve setup. Is it coming from the top of the engine?

Yes the knocking is from the top of the engine, but the valves are in milimeters right adjusted, when i start the car, u hear a tiny knocking but if i drive..like 2 days ago, on 32 degrees Celzius for 160 miles, after i stop the knocking was preety bad....im thinking maybe it is from the GAS unit(LPG) there is nothing else to be...just a little frustrated, but...what the hell
BTW: I have 1.0cc engine with 68HP with PRINSE LPG sistem instaled, before the LPG the consumption was 6.4 litres per 100 kilometers, with the LPG it has increase to 7.2 lit. od LPG. With 20 litres of LPG i get 540 kilometres in town, heavy traffic.

Greatings.

Have you changed fuel brands by any chance? I've heard of this happening when changing octane levels.
