Is the clutch switch required? Is it's purpose to disengage the cruise when the clutch is pressed in?

The clutch switch is required for MT cars. The switch works the opposite of the clutch start switch, which is why it is a separate switch. It does disable CC when the clutch is touched, to prevent revving.

I stock all of the cruise control parts at less than dealer or mail order prices, if you need anything.

Unfortunately no European made Yaris prior to 2012 had cruise control. It was not until the 3rd generation with the 1.33L engine that Toyota added it.

I installed CC on my 09 Yaris in the summer of 09 according to CT Scotts instructions. It has worked flawlessly ever since.

I work building electronic devices for space and military applications. I told my supervisor about the CC mod in my Yaris and he looked alarmed.

"Paul, I cant BELIEVE you are modifying your brand new car by what some idiot on the internet is telling people to do!"

I also just finished installing the CC mod on my '09 Yaris according to CTScott's instructions 2 days ago. I am still baffled by how easy it was to enable this function.
Before, when I went to a dealership to ask if they could do it, they said they didn't even want to touch it.
"If it didn't come with it originally, we can't do anything about it." I would love to go back there now and just laugh at their faces.
I'll post some photos once I label all the buttons.

Thanks again CTScott! You are trully a Yaris mod master!

CTScott is def the man here. He is "THE DON" or should I say "THE SCOTT" of yarisworld. If he ever traded all three of his Yaris prototypes in for some other car...Yarisworld would not be as good as it is today..

So I read through the entire thread but didn't find a solution my issue (some similar cases but no resolution).

I have an 07 sedan, auto transmission, Canadian car. I went to perform this mod today, only to find that I have a factory wire (pin 40) at the ECM connection but no wire at the D3 connection under the steering wheel. No CC lights in the cluster either. Car has been dealer serviced since day 1.

Anyone else figured this one out?

EDIT:

Found the solution in another thread. The pin 40 wire seizes to exist after the firewall connection (AD4) on the drive side of the vehicle. Weird! See attached photo. Hope this helps someone out because it sure as hell gave me headache.
