hooked up to jumper cables and tried to start it. It still hesitates, also smelled smoke afterwards. Appreciate any help.

Miles on the car?

Kinda sounds like how a car sounds when you're doing a compression test. Check the coil packs and the connectors???

Gonna guess the smoke odor is the starter???

150,000 miles and the battery was installed on 06/2016

But looks to be the battery since the car didn’t get driven for 2 days and when it did, it was very little miles

Watch auto diagnostic channels on YouTube, it could be a lot of things and it takes a decent amount of time, effort, and tools to diagnose a vehicle. Consider paying a auto diagnostic guy if you can't spend days and a hundred bucks on basic tools
