16's or 17's

What does everyone think? At first I was thinking that 17's were my best bet,.. but after thinking about it some more I'm thinking that 16's might offer the better performance pkg, not to mention less chance for wheel damage from all those crappy toronto streets...

Given the two choices, I'd go with 16 since the car is so low-powered. Personally, I'll be going with 15s.

It depends on what you are going for. For maximum performance the bigger the wheels the better.

For looks, the same applies.

If something else, then you can go with smaller wheels.

I'm prolly going with 14s.

I'd like the 17's, but you make a good point about the streets here. LOL I want to put in the lowering springs first (wish I did it when I got the car) Then I'll worry about the wheels. I have something in the works for an exhaust. I didn't plan to do it until later this summer but something good has come along. I'll post more about it later, in another thread.

I'm pretty sure the 18s are out of the question running low pro 30 rubber bands isn't that appealing to me... that could mean bent rims, and really, really, really expensive tires... the more I look at the Yaris, the more I think that 17s would be the best fit... My major dilema is that I'm stuck in thinking that for the same price of a 17 in pkg, I could get some better quality wheels and tires pkg in 16.....

LOL, I know some people are trying to put them on xBs but they can't find a tire small enough.

15's or 16's if you want performance, 17's if you want looks. Anything more than that, common its a yaris.

Ditto. I had 18s on my xB, and it sapped the power out of the little 1NZ-FE. I switched to some lighter-weight 16s with sticky rubber and I love it!

I'm now thinking of just going to beefier skins on my 15's. Anybody know how wide you can go on the stock RS alloys? I know 195/55 x15 will work, but I was thinking maybe 205/50 x15???? I dunno if that will violate the law of diminishing returns.

I'm gonna get some cheapy 16" Rage Vigor wheels with 205/50/16 tires:

They'll look like stock wheels but a lil' bigger/wider which is what I'm going for...

Don't want to take too much attention away from the car itself
